Back-to-School Prep Rally

Hey Indian Head Elementary!  The Back-to-School PREP RALLY is a great event for getting geared up for back-to-school at IHES! Learn about all the community resources available to you, get your burning questions answered, and have a free dinner!

Children’s Program 

  • Free dinner of pizza, fruit and snacks
  • Games and a kid-friendly movie
  • Children will be divided into age groups to have more enjoyment of the evening events
  • Kids check-in starts at Black Box Theater at 5:30. Drop off at the side entrance behind Black Box theater
  • Children ages PreK (age 4) through 5th grade can be dropped off at the Black box Theatre for a dinner and a Movie
  • Pick up kids by 8:00 at Black Box Theater.

Parent’s Program

  • Parent’s event runs 6-7:30 at the Indian Head Pavilion (Village Green)
  • Free dinner
  • Free Resources and handouts will be available on:
    • Routines to start now to get ready for school
    • Judy Center
    • Boys and Girls club
    • Food Pantry
    • Enrichment programs
  • Discussion Topics:
    • Introduction and what to expect in the beginning days of school
    • A word from the Mayor
    • Communication: How to hear and talk to staff and teachers at the school
    • How can you be involved, the many ways to volunteer and be a part of your child’s learning experience
    • Cyber Security- how to keep your children safe online
    • The Parent PTO what is it and how can you be involved
    • “Move This World:” What is it, how is it used
    • Important dates to know
    • Opportunities to get all your school-related questions answered
